Thinking of ending my BLOG

I have been thinking of ending my blog. I just don't want it to become the only means of communication.

My time at the red Cross Office

Well here I sit with nobody here to talk to and nothing to do. I have answered the telephone a few times,but that is about all I have done this day. I did go to lunch and sat with my friend Katie.
Katie is getting ready to go to Italy ( Silily) for a relatives wedding. Katie speaks and writes Italian so she doesnt have any problem in that regard.
Iam taking off from my volunteer job next week while Michele and new husband Mark are in town. Daniele is coming to and will stayn with me while Michele and Mark go visit some friends down on Portland Oregon. Dawn is taking some time off of wrk and will be helping me entertain Danilele. This should be a nice week weatherwise and I hope we can get out and do some fun things.

Time to catch up

During this period of time (March - April ) I had a visit with my nephew up in Duval, WA. I had to cut my visit short because it started to snow. I started down the Duval-carnation highway to return home. This highway is about country as they get. When I was about four miles from Duval my car skidded and spun around winding up in a culvert full of running water. The water started to seep into my car. Thank goodness that there was very little traffic and that there was no cars coming the opposite way. A car stopped to see if I was alright and offered to help pull me out with a chain she had. I was really stuck so I didn't think she could pull me out. Remember it was still snowing with mixed sleet. I called on my cellphone for help and was put on hold. Just then I turned around and there was a tow truck coming up the highway. I signaled to the driver and he stopped and discussed the cost of pulling me out. At this point money was not an object of concern with the car filling up. I had to ask the driver where he was coming from and he said that he had been working on road several miles away. My guardian angel was riding with me that day. He pulled me out and I was able to get home without any further problem.
I was able to report this to my insurance company and they paid for everything, including repair to the car.
Well, Easter has come and gone. This past Saturday I went to a Hawaiian luau at the chief Leshi elementary school. The Hulau's performed quite professionally

Time gets away from this old one

My granddaughter has reminded me that I have not been on my Blog for a long time. And you know what, she was quite correct.
I do like my Blog but sometimes I just don't have anything important to write about.
Well two things have kept me away. One, I meet a very nice lady that volunteers out at the hospital that i also volunteer at. She invited me to her home in Puyallup for dinner this past Saturday. We had a wonderful dinner and she put on the DVD movie of Mama Mia. I really enjoyed this movie as I like the music from ABBA. The second, and bad part was I started to feel sick, not from the food, but from a cold that was creeping up on me. I woke up Sunday feeling real bad and had to call for a substitute teacher for my third grade class at church and I missed going to Mass.
I was in bed most of Sunday and I stayed home on Monday from my hospital job.
Tuesday, I was feeling better and went and had my teeth cleaned at my dentist and then I went to the commissary for some much needed food and stuff.
I will probably go up to Duval WA to see my nephew and family.

Chrstmas Time

My Christmas was very quit. I put up a small Christmas tree and a nativity set over the fireplace. I only used the tree ornaments that I cared about. Michele sent me a toy house of the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Tennessee. She knows I like to eat there. The other one was figure of the Red Cross building in the Capitol

The snow is finally gone

The snow storm that hit the Northwest was the worst one in years. It kept me in doors and almost made me a little stir crazy. I made it through with the food and stuff, but it was pretty tough. This of course happened while everyone was getting ready for Christmas. My car does not like to run in snow/ice. In fact it slips on the slightest piece of ice. I am not the only one that was glad to see it melt away. I never thought that I would want to see it rain, but this time I was very happy to see it pour and help get rid of the snow/ice.
I was able to get back to my volunteering job at Madigan AMC and life in general.
One other thing before I close. This time of year here the sunlight (What little there is) goes away around four in the afternoon. Then it is nighttime till tomorrow.

Its been awhile

Last week, I went to two Thanksgiving dinners. I hosted one in my apartment (with the agreement that they, Thomas and Dawn would provide the food, cook the dinner and cleanup after. All went well and we had lots to eat. My other guests where Mr & Mrs Bob and Darlene McMichael and Elda Marie Ordonez. The following day, I was invited to Bob and Darlenes sons house out in Graham. Jim and Sharie cooked up a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. It was a full house with lots of guest and relatives (A side note. Jim and Sherie raise and sell snakes.
Yesterday, December lst. I went to Thomas and Molliannes house to celebrate Great-grand daughters first birthday. Happy birthday Sasha Guy. I have been told that the family will celebrate Simons third birthday in January rather than December.
Daughter Karen just got back from the great state of Tenessee. She was ther to bring the rest of the families spirit to the wedding of Michele and Mark. Karen said that Michele look beautiful. Her son Christopher gave her away. Karen was delayed getting back to Washington state due to snow in Knoxville.
